Star Wars

Since its beginnings in the 70s Star Wars has become a cultural phenomenon. It started in 1977 when George Lucas released the first film, simply titled "Star Wars" (although the novelisation of the film script actually hit the shelves in 1976). The film was a critical and commercial success, and launched one of the most beloved franchises in cinema history. Our range of Star Wars merchandise can be seen below and covers the full range of the Star Wars universe that has developed over the years.

The original trilogy, which consisted of "Star Wars," "The Empire Strikes Back," and "Return of the Jedi," followed the journey of Luke Skywalker as he battled the evil Empire and the Dark Side of the force. The trilogy also introduced iconic characters like Han Solo, Princess Leia, and Darth Vader. These films were groundbreaking in terms of special effects, and they had a massive impact on the movie industry. Even so the trilogy actually started at episode IV as it was felt the earlier plotlines were unfilmable. After a hiatus of over a decade, the franchise was revived in 1999 with the release of "Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace." The prequel trilogy, which followed the rise of Anakin Skywalker and the fall of the Jedi Order, was met with mixed reviews, but it still managed to gross over $2 billion worldwide. And their box office success showed the world that there was an appetite for new Star Wars stories and the continued expansion of Star Wars merchandise.

In 2012, George Lucas sold Lucasfilm to Disney, and the franchise was relaunched with a new trilogy beginning with "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" in 2015. The sequel trilogy followed the adventures of new characters while also bringing back classic characters from the 1977 film. The Star Wars universe has also expanded beyond the films, with books, comics, and animated series. One of the most popular additions to the franchise has been "The Mandalorian", a live-action series set in the years following "Return of the Jedi. A further spin off series set at the same time and focusing on the Bounty Hunter Boba Fett, first seen in the original trilogy, has been another successful series for Disney. As well as the live action series of Obi-Wan Kenobi and Andor, the franchise has begun to explore different eras and perspectives, with the animated series "Star Wars: The Bad Batch". And with Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures, Ahsoka, Skeleton Crew and The Acolyte all with release dates through 2023 and 2024 The Star Wars universe is set to continue expanding as will our range of Star Wars merchandise.
